Springfest Music and Arts Festival is an annual outdoor festival hosted by the Washington State University Student Entertainment Board. Springfest brings together students, faculty, alumni and the Palouse community to celebrate the end of the school year by partaking in various activities. Activities include live music, student group activities, live entertainment, a children's center, inflatable games, food, extreme sports, and more you'll just have to wait and see for your own eyes. History of Springfest: Springfest began seven years ago in 2002.
Originally, it was planned and produced by the WSU administration as an alternative to the Senior Golf event. The first year attracted only 20 people. Since then, the annual event has been planned and produced by the Student Entertainment Board and has continuously grows each year. The student's passion for entertainment along with the outdoor setting has proven to be vital components to the success of the event. In 2006 the event was made free to the public and was moved from Beasley Coliseum to an outdoor venue. The event mostly remained as a concert. In 2007, with the addition of a nostalgic band, Everclear, and a beer garden that did not stop flowing, Springfest attracted more than 6,000 students to end off the year. In 2008, the tradition continued with non-stop entertainment that included a comedian, Eve 6 and a finale firework show. Attendance was estimated to exceed 7,000 people. 2009's SpringFest brought us Tech N9ne, Rebelution, and one of the best outdoor concerts SEB has seen! And in 2010, SpringFest brought two different genres to Pullman with hip-hop artists The Ying Yang Twins and alternative pop musicians The Maine. We're very proud that we could do something the bring the WSU community together.
In 2011, Ludacris headlined Spingfest concert resulting in a sold out concert. Attendance for Springfest weekend was the highest it has been since the beginning. In 2012, 3OH!3 headlined Springfest with opener Chingy. Adult Swim attended the Carnival Friday night, which added some amazing entertainment. The Student Entertainment Board strives to increase the attendance and maintain a high quality of entertainment to ensure that those who attend will always remember their time at Springfest.
