Visitors will be led by legally blind facilitators into another world where senses are heightened and surroundings are unknown. As they dine on an unprecedented selection of tasting dishes, prepared by the WSU culinary team, they will be taken on a musical journey through a concert in total darkness.
This award winning positive social change program is sweeping the nation. In five years, this Colorado- based organization, created by Brian Rocheleau has reached over 10,000 people, 7 US cities (and expanding), and has supported 11 different blind organizations through event donations.
Their mission, to initiate ‘positive social change’ in the lives of participants; to educate, entertain and educate on how to connect in a deeper way through experiencing blindness, the value of active listening, appreciation of music, the development of compassion and valuing of others, to relate to one another with a deep sense of compassion and openness to listen and understand people who are different than them.
The Blind Café in Pullman is sure to serve as a long lasting and impactful event to those who elect to close their eyes, and open their heart to this evening of magically entangled sensory experiences.
